Farvardin 13th (Sizdah-be-dar) is the day man returns to Mother Nature.
For thousands of years, Sufis and those believed in Sufism would go out and celebrate this day after noontime, when the sun had reached the middle of the sky.
Sizdah (13) is not a number but it is a word.
Day thirteen of each month is called Tir Rooz and belongs to the god Tir.
In Avestan language, Tir is called Teyshatariah, and has the same name as Teyshatar, the god of rain.
Noah’s ark reached the land in Iran on Farvardin 13th after the great Tsunami.
We keep our wheatgrass for 12 days and on day 13, we return them to the nature to show our gratitude for the survival of mankind from the flood.
